I'm sitting here with dad who is now in the last days.
He's been nil by mouth since Tuesday, except a tiny drop of liquid from a mouth sponge or a teaspoon and since Thursday evening not even able to tolerate the smallest drop of liquid - so had nothing at all since then.
He is the most peaceful that we've seen him in a long time and he's aware that we are with him...that else is he's snoring like a freight train at the moment!
I alongside my mum and sister are taking it in turns to sit with him. My brothers have also been to visit as have most of my dad's 11 grandchildren.
We are exhausted, but savouring these last moments with him., however we can't help but wonder how much longer he can go on.
Thanks everyone for being there...especially during these long nights x
