Bev how are you? Getting to be a jet setter xxxx
Yes I have gone a bit mad. Recently returned from Australia and Thailand and just booked to go to China. It’s a singles holiday but someone else on this site is going as well. I hadn’t made the final decision about China but while I was away 3 friends died, another reminder how quickly things can change, so booked within a week of getting home.
I had decided I would finally do the decorating and repairs, the results of falls and carers not being very careful when moving equipment, wheelchair, commode, hoist etc. I then had second thoughts. It’s not going to get any worse and it will still be here when I return so at the moment I’d rather spend the money seeing the world, before my body starts to deteriorate too much.
My darling comes with me in spirit and I still think and pray for all you lovely folk on this site who are living through the nightmare that is PSP.
Sending you a big hug.

Bev I really don’t blame you feeling very envious, but still so happy George is at home, things have got hard but going to have a couple of weeks off in February, everything organised for George’s care, he will be at home, full confidence in his care while I am away. Decorating can wait, our skirtings are all scratched walls doors and even radiators, just ignore it . Sending you a big hug have a lovely time in China are you meeting up with the person from the site? Xxxxx
Are you going somewhere you can relax in February? It’s good George can be cared for in your own home.
Someone else from this site is going to China at the same time. My sons’ minds worked overtime when I told them I was going on holiday with someone I’d met on the Internet. I think they were relieved when I said it was a female and from this site 😆

I love your mindset NannaB. Hope you have a lovely holiday to China with the other person on this site. Nanny857 xx
Aww what a gorgeous photo Yvonne! I’m really pleased you and George managed to join in the celebrations! Nice to hear something cheerful, thank you for sharing x
So wonderful that you and your hubby could join such a special occasion for a beautiful young lady! Making memories is so important for you, and for your granddaughter!
She went for her driving test yesterday, text to say she didn’t pass, I rung her felt so sad for her, then last night someone was knocking the door, it was her, I said how did you get here she said how do you think? Showing me her car key, I was so excited jumping up and down kissing her xxxxx
Glad you and George had a wonderful time at your granddaughter's 18th birthday. Enjoy Dubai. I too have just booked a trip away. I am going to China, with a very special lady! No names!!!
Sending big hug and much love
Lots of love
Anne
Thank you Anne so looking forward to going but quilty that I am going, same old story of guilt xxxxxx
You are only going because you need that break. If George didn't have PSP, there would be no need. So if you have to blame anybody, it's olde PSP, yet again!
Lots of love
Anne
Congratulations to your beautiful granddaughter. Good news that you and George were able to join in with the celebrations and enjoyed it. Another lovely memory created and hope there are many more. Lots of love Nanny857 xx
Yay, Yvonne! I'm so very happy that you were able to share this milestone with your family and with us. What a charming photo! Many hugs, Ec
It’s wonderul to hear about your great day. Passing the driving test is a big step in independence. I bet she is thrilled 👍🏽😊 Thanks for sharing .
Really delighted for you and George and the birthday girl. Our lovely granddaughter turned 18 last summer. Jon was still walking and we were able to join in like you. What change for us since then.
Passing her driving test meant more impromptu visits for us which is lovely. You have that to look forward to.
How have you organised your care at home? I'm so in need of a break myself and home is definitely best for Jon.
All the best to you both.
Rosemary
We have a live in career and our children live near us so they take on some care as well, I am really lucky my children help out xxxxx

Thank you lovely lady how you doing? Xxxxx
Hi Yvonne,
Struggling a bit with P`s constant coughing and choking - I find it really upsetting to witness (but not nearly as bad as it must be for him !)
Just taking it a day at a time and trying to make the most of what we have now and not think about what we`ve lost, like everyone else here.
Still awaiting the outcome of our CHC appeal too - the stress is something I could really do without.
Love to you and George.

Yvonne a lovely photo of the birthday girl. I am glad you all had a good time. My Granddaughter is 14, 15 in March. Where did the time go?She keeps talking about when she can drive!! Scares me silly thinking of it. She was here with me last night. We always have a good time together. It's a special relationship isn't it?
Hope you enjoy your break in a few weeks time. It will do you good even if you do feel guilty.
