Where we are now..

I've been away from here for a while. If you read my blog you will know I'd moved in with my Dad after an acute episode. It was never something I could do indefinitely and with regret after 4 weeks of my Dad being bed bound, he has moved into a nursing home. Its a St Monica's Trust home & is absolutely lovely. He was showered, shaved, dressed & sat in a chair when I visited him yesterday, something he hadn't done for a month. It's a huge relief as I was broken, exhausted mentally & physically. Now he's getting the 24/7 care he needs & I'm back home with my family and I can go back to being his daughter rather than carer.

As an added bonus he was chc fast tracked! All thanks to his amazing district nurses.

As you say a huge relief for you and hopefully some time to get your strength back. Now you can enjoy time with your dad. Jxx

I remember you going to stay with him. It is so hard to take care of someone so ill. At least you were there when needed? Now you can visit him and hopefully they will take care of him well. Just keep an eye on him to make sure they do. Have a rest too as you are probably feeling really tired.
