If the person taking laxido goes 2 or 3 times in a day do they have to have it or wait till stop going again

We were advised by incontinence nurse to not stop it but give regularly. unless the dose you are giving is resulting in loose bowel movements, then need to decrease amount given.

Agreeing with Spiral S and adding a bit of an aside.

We use a similar thing (?) - Lactulose. Liz suddenly stopped having successful bowel movements. I spoke to the pharmacist and he said not to increase the med., but to increase fluid intake.

Lactulose helps the large bowel retain fluids and thus to make bowel movements easier, but without sufficient fluid it is ineffective.

Adding - Increasing fluid worked.
