So sad my husband has passed away

I haven't been on this site very often but when I have all the replies I received meant so much. It's with great regret to say my husband 48 has passed away. We are so devastated but I know he has battled with this terrible illness for 6 years and he is at peace now.

Oh Lisa,I am so sorry to hear this.I know you had been asking questions lately out of concern for changes you were seeing in the progression of his illness,but I know you weren't expecting this now.

Just barely 2 weeks ago I experienced the same.When I saw Don go to bed that night in at the rehab facility he seemed OK,or as OK as he had been for some weeks.Then when I got the call at midnight saying he had passed.I was in disbelief.

I know you are feeling so much grief at this time but at the same time relieved that he is at peace now.That is what keeps me going.

Lisa_Jeff, I urge you to join a grief group. It has helped me immeasurably.

My son, Jeff, died on May 4, at barely turned 55 years old. I was the only one in the group who had lost a child. Others had mostly lost a spouse, and a couple had lost a parent. All the sharing was helpful. This Thurs is my last meeting. We met for 8 weeks, 90 minutes once a week.
