Have been afraid to post in case I have been dreaming. Received a phone call late afternoon Friday to say we have been given funding. So gobsmacked I could only get name and number of person I was talking to. It is now late Sunday and await the bubble to burst on Monday morning. J

We were assessed in March and refused. Hubby has deteriorated quite considerably since so reapplied on a fast track. Sorry for delay in responding. J x

I don't want to put a dampener on this great news, but when they awarded my hubby this funding it took 3 months before any thing was put in place. (We come under the Cambridgeshire CHC). However once in place it has made a huge difference to the quality of both our lives. I really hope it happens much more quickly for you. Good Luck

Well done. Let's hope it doesn't take too long for them to pull their finger out and put the funding into action. It does make a tremendous difference to all your lives.

We got ours on fast track the first time we saw a Macmillan palliative care nurse. She organised it within 2 days. Amazing. Have you a hospice near ish.

Make sure you keep your payment receipts that you have self funded. You should claim the payments made since application. Peter.

Can somebody explain to me,who lives in France, what exactly means CHC funding?..because in France, once you are diagnosed with

parkinson's or PSP or cancer for that matter, your GPgo puts In a request that you may be considered a patient of a "maladie de longue durée"

That is all done very swiftly and then you'll get all the costs, pertaining to your illness, refunded, including speech therapy, the opérations due to à fall, THE physiotherapist etc.etc. It 's à great system, but very expensive and I wonder how long we can keep it long !going

I HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH CHC IT CAME THE NEXT MONTH VIA MY DIRECT PAYMENTS FROM THE LOCAL COUNCIL

THE HOSPICE DID IT FOR ME ON APPEAL `(I WAS ATTENDING THE HOSPICE ONE DAY PER WEEK MY PARTNER WILL NOT AGREE 2 ANY RESPITE CARE

Yes AVB total reality and everything fell into place very quickly. We are very lucky as self funding for care is expensive. Hoping to get money back. Will have to see. Will keep you posted. Jx
