Does any one no of a good mattress topper in the Uk to help keep my hubby cooler on a hospital mattress as I know they do make one very hot and I also think it is a symptom of PSP.

Hi Trumpet

If its because the foam is sweaty?

Try Victoria linen (online) - the cotton one they are so comfy too. we put one of their waterproof sheets over the top. They are breathable and do not feel like a plastic sheet - more like a cotton feel.

You might need to get their deep pleated fitted sheets to fit over that lot!

Not cheap, but very nice indeed. Dear old John Lewis do good stuff as well.

Now, I expect I have gone down the wrong route... but given that a foam mattress is a massive insulator adding a little more does not make it worse - it breath-ability that should change things.

Hope this helps

Kevin

Hi

.Trumpet 1234 .. I have a mattress cover that is ment for summer and winter use, it is cotton on one side and fleece on the other,

Available in single, double, or king size .from dunelm shops. my husband is always cold I thought that was a sympton of psp , so you never can tell. my symptions as a psp by proxy suffer, are anger and rage at people who make damm stupid remarks (like he will be better soon , and others who stare when he has a coughing fit.) end of moaning for today going to take my husband out for cappuccino. bye Brenda.

Hi Brenive

PSP is just awful, my hubby had a brain haemorrhage in 2014 so he was already disabled and brain damaged and no we have PSP in the mix. I am so battling to get my head around this and I had breast cancer in 2013, when is it going to stop. I so agree with you about people's comments, they make me so mad inside.💐

Hello everybody,

One of the best mattress toppers you can use for a cooler sleep is made of space-age memory foam. This type of mattress topper provides a cooler sleep surface because the memory foam does not disperse heat, creating a cooler sleep surface. Furthermore, while there are different types of memory foam pads, many of them are designed with open-cell technology, which allows for breathability. Read more here wisepick.org/best-mattress-...

Thanks and regards

Hi, Trumpet!

Usually it's the memory foam that people call hot and slicky (also mentioned by WebMD webmd.com/sleep-disorders/f.... They may retain body heat, which could make them less comfortable in warm weather. But as for me, ViscoSoft (you can check it here: talkaboutsleep.com/best-mat... was pretty cool and comfortable, and since I had a long recovery period I really got used to it. Maybe you should give it a try as well.
