Kevin all Keith's so called knowledgeable professionals i.e. Social worker, specialist OT, Parkinson's nurse and several district nurses kept telling me Keith wasn't entitled to CHC, it was just for end of life, BUT ITS NOT, if I had believed them we wouldn't have got any further, I have told them all they need to re-read the rules so it doesn't happen to other patients! It's disgusting really, I'm so glad I didn't give up and kept on pushing, I couldn't wait to see their faces when we were given fast track CHC! 🤔🤗😀
I have read that for every person who gets CHC there are three or four who are refused 'in error' That is one hell of a failure statistic.
Good for you for fighting. The more of who do the better.
The panel meets to discus our new funding on Monday... I have my key in the lock and my finger over the red button just in case, but I so don't need another fight...
Thank you Kevin, i will check this out, it's been a very stressful week sorting the finances out, today is the first day of permanent nursing of home, big changes financially and emotionally so It will certainly be something I need to do. my heart is heavy tonight but thank you for your help. X
Thanks for this and all your posts on CHC. Mum got declined this week and the hospice feel she doesn't meet for eligibility as yet as she has picked up a bit since her hospital stay in April but to get a reassessment done as soon as she starts to decline again. My brain in mush trying to battle with all so think will leave it for now.
