Does he have a regular doctor? take him there even if that means in a couple days.....Unless of course there are other symptoms extreme pain in ear or sinus throwing up blood , acting wierd like he's had a stroke....I'm just throwing stuff out there ....but even then, take him to an urgent care place first...they will see him within 20 minutes.....and won't make him lay there for the next 8 hours ....And remember if he is dizzy get him in his comfy chair and make him stay there! if you have a wheel chair help him to the bathroom etc by "driving" him there!
Good Luck,
AVB
Mmmmm
My dad complains of being dizzy and has done for about 5 years
I think it's blood pressure related + Psp
X
It may be blood pressure. It gets low. But we'll check it out.
I think the rough road is beginning. I was complacent and since we were stable starting to relax. Guess I'll never be able to again.

One of Keith's first symptoms was feeling very dizzy, how far down this road are you?
I would check it out with his doctor or specialist, it may be something unrelated to the dreaded PSP, well worth checking!

My Liz has complained of feeling dizzy for quite some years.
The Neurologist called it Vertigo.
He explained that those parts of the brain involved with balance are compromised by the PSP syndrome. That's why PSP folk have no sense of balance. He added that the brain tries to find balance, but can no longer access the required information from the inner ear. So like a wildly swinging compass with no North it searches and causes 'dizziness'.
He said that this may well pass as PSP progresses to that part of the brain also.
Liz describes it as like bing very drunk. The world around her spins.
Having said all of this quite a number of medications can cause dizziness so I am with the folk above... See a doctor, get the meds. checked for side effects as well.
Good luck.
Warmly
Kevin
Once again this is all really interesting - my husband has complained of feeling 'giddy' for months now and our Dr has tried all sorts of things - but nothing has worked. This explanation especially from Kevin is really enlightening.
Hi Kevin_1. My heart goes out to your Liz. My husband has been permanently dizzy for 3 years. He was diagnosed in 2009 with an acoustic neuroma which.is a non malignant brain tumour which grows on the balance nerve thus causing imbalance. Even after gamma knife treatment in 2014 the dizzyness remained. In Jan of this year he was diagnosed with CBD so it looks like CBD robbed him of the ability to regain his balance by retraining another part of his brain. It is severely.debilitating and he is now almost unable to walk. This is a really cruel illness. Keep strong Kevin and look after yourself.
F was complaining of dizziness, long before diagnosis, but I feel sure it was his first symptoms of PSP and seems to be what he complains about the most, neurologist said it was due to lack of eye movement

Dear Debbie,
I'll mention that to him as well. Glasses help a bit but everything is going downhill, me too!
Ha ha.
Thanks again,
