...Squatty Potty or a facsimile thereof, maybe something to look into! It is merely a raised level for ones feet as they sit on the toilet to evacuate bowels. This product was meant for the general population, not those necessarily with balance issues.
That being said, B just told me he hadn't gone in a week...(shame on me for not inquiring sooner, I know)
So I had him lift his legs higher than the toilet bowl and rest his feet on the side of his walker (turned the walker 90* and pinned against wall. Both feet were next to each other as they rested on walkers side ). He was able to maintain his balance; so he sat there....and Wallah! Success was his!....
Now was it because of the positioning of the feet?....Go to Squatty Potty website to find out why it works...or was B going to be successful today anyway....we will see.
I felt compelled to inform people who may be going through this, that feet positioning may be an alternative to drugs or enemas...
I hope everyone is having a poopy day! If not, raise your feet when you're on the seat! hahahahah (I just made that up......should've been an ad guy...girl

S is having huge problems as well. We have an extra high toilet, so it's easier for him to sit on, but that leaves the feet dangling. I will try to lift his feet next time. Let you know if it helps!!!
my diet is very normal but my husband has to cut up my meat as i can choke if i try to swallow too big a piece .... i do have prunes each morning too .. i guess i have the slow form of psp

Yeah raised feet is definitely recommended by doctors to help evacuation ! But if it's dry and the muscles don't work easier said than done!!! Mum had the peg two weeks ago and has been having daily movements this week!! But still need movicol to get things going and I also add milled flaxseed to porridge etc and give prune juice and any other fibre increasers. Suppositories and mini enemas also helpful too as are gloves and Andrex wipes !!!!
Oh and AVB I know it's yet one more thing to do but I put a little purple sticker on the calendar whenever mum has a bowel movement so I can track it and up dosages as necessary! Mum was averaging one a week but now the calendar is all purple ha!
Thanks for the hint! It's amazing how often a question I have in mind is answered before I ask - we are going through the same thing. This site and you all are the best!
