I am fortunate to have been a weight lifter and a long distance rider of bicycles because it gives me an advantage today at 70. I start at a therapy gym on Tuesday. Wish me luck, please.

You have more than luck already! You have the experience and knowledge of what it takes to be successful physically. You will do fine in physical therapy . My husband lifted wts when he was younger ; He still does ! I have to help him get from weight to weight and he can only use the machines now, but he does ok. He just started on an elliptical to help him not just cardiovascularly but with rhythmic stepping. I don't know if its helping much with the latter as there is not much up and down foot rotation, but he gets a good workout! B will be 56 in May...and even a little bit at the gym wears him out! So you even getting where you have gotten, and still thinking of more ways to help yourself and at 70 Well I applaud you and you need to give yourself a pat on the back!

It's a walking machine, but instead of a conveyer like belt that one just walks on, it has individual foot pads connected by bars that swing back and forth and with a slight up and down movement...It mimicks walking, stair climbing or running more. than the basic stationery machine.

You are certainly taking the right approach. My partner refused to exercise but I am convinced it is the key to living as long as possible with PSP. We saw two Professors of Neurology here in Turkey both of whom stressed the importance of exercise but C chose to ignore their advice. His choice. If you want to live as long as possible keep up your exercise. Well done you.

Hi Yvonne, I am doing really well. Just back from a five-day road trip with my daughter and starting to feel really relaxed again after the years of stress with PSP.

Hi John, I think exercise, is the only tool that helps with PSP! I'm sure my husband would be further down the road, if he didn't attend his weekly class, plus his personal trainer on another day! Also, being very fit before hand, keeps those muscles from giving up too soon.

Lots of love

I like your husband. He and I are alike. My wife drives me there (basic PSP ...done) and will continue to do so for weight trading.

Be well.
