Hi Shasha

I haven't seen much (no pun intended) about this subject with respect to PSP. This binocluar diplopia (double vision) occurs with many other diseases. It seems that apart from "the patch over one eye" treatment there is a special (opaque) contact lens that can be used. I wonder if this would be more comfortable? I assume an opthalmologist (rather than an optometrist) would be familiar with this sort of treatment. (Eye exercises and botox and surgery are other options).

Since one study suggests about half PSP patients have this double vision, perhaps someone on this forum has other recommendations based on their own experiences.

Cheers

T.

Hi Mary

I have no experience with these eye specialists, but from their web site it seems they will assess and assist those with eye problems caused by neurological conditions .

All the best

They cut one out of soft plastic and put it on the bottom half of the right lens. Reading glasses were made with them in both lens. Nothing seems to work and if it does , it's a short time. We bought six pairs in six months.

Double vision is an early sign of PSP. In my wifes case weve had it over 3y. It is variable in our instance and increases with tiredness, and hence they dont use a prism lens. All we have done is get the glasses as good as possible. We dont use patches., cause of comfort problems etc

Hi Shasha,

My mom had double vision and she religuously did the eye exercises we found online for doublevision and it went away in about 4 weeks. I am not able to find the exact link that we found then but its pretty standard ones.
