My husband is diagnosed with PSP. Every time he eats, his eyes water, sneezing fits, and his nose runs. Sound familiar? Any suggestions?

Think its one of the effects of PSP

My hubby couldn't get through a meal without the same thing happening as yours. Strange, but it stopped when I had to start liquidising and mashing his food. I put it down to the difficulty in swallowing but don't really know why. His eyes always water a lot, and excess saliva is a problem, hence the pile of tissues, but I can't remember the last time he sneezed. He used to sneeze loads of times straight off.
Not a solution as you won't want to liquidize until you have to and it may just be a coincidence but, like us, it may improve one day.

My husband has been using glycopyrrolate. I just looked it up on the computer for side effects. He has been using it for a long time. It is a 1 mg tablet, not the shot. He takes 2 a day, one in morning and one at night before bed. He has been taking it for a long time.
P has the unique knack of coughing/choking then sneezing, all at once. Never used to do this, only since the other PSP symptoms became apparent.
My wife's pulmonary doctor says this is because the airway is being blocked while eating/drinking, which causes the eyes to water and the nose to run. Happens each time I allow her to have some food (she has a PEG feeding tube, so there is no reason to give her any food by mouth except for pleasure). But she doesn't ever sneeze. I'm the one who does the sneezing. Weird, but as I get older, the more sneezes I produce. Used to barely get out 3 sneezes. But now it's 4 to 5, sometimes even 6. Maybe it's my body's way of telling me I need more blessings from others? But as long as I have my precious wife, I'm fully blessed.
Hi, now you mention it, yes, S has got a runny nose and ears watering when eating. He rarely sneezes now. Just getting over a cold I think, but he didn't sneeze at all. Which, before, he couldn't stop sneezing!
No advise, bar plenty of tissues/kitchen roll. But now I am aware of this, I will watch and see if anything does stop it!
Lots of love
Heady
My mother who has PSP has the runny nose part but no sneezing. I haven't known what to do either.
