Hi all I am hoping someone may be able to help. My Mum was diagnosed with CBD 4 years ago. She lives with my Dad in a beautiful but rather rural setting in the Yorkshire Dales. Dad does all he can to support my Mum but we need 24 hour care for her.
We have been trying to establish a pattern of live in care for day and night carers but are struggling to find the right people who will live in such a rural setting.
Since January there have been 8 carer who have tried but not stayed for various reasons.
My sister and I visit from London (11 hour round trip) every other weekend where we both work, live and bring up our own young families. We are desperate to fulfil mums wishes of living our her days in her own home but can seem to get the care provision right. The rotating door of carers is adding its own stress and complication to an already dreadful situation. We would have her in London with us but she has made it clear she doesn’t want that.
So any ideas on care plans that work?
Care agencies that can help in rural setting?
A Lovely carer looking for a new role in the Yorkshire Dales?
All advice appreciated.
Best wishes
Sally
