DearJill,
Anything to continue to aid your mobility would be brilliant. And like most things in life "You don't know til you try"
U step walkers are something I've read about on Internet as being great for PSP sufferers - however only seen one used randomly, with limited success as the user tended to push it away rather than walking with it. Is it an item you can try before you buy, or hire first? Here we can hire such equipment through the Independent Living Centre, and a couple of speciality pharmacies. N.B. My husband uses an array of equipment - walking frames etc- that certainly aid in his mobility - Refer to one of my other recent postings for details.

I think it will jill if used properly I use one but sometimes I take chances with it I put it in the back of my car with all the junk then i go to get it out and being impatient I just grab hold of it and yank it out instead of clearing the car first so it comes out easy tyhen I have troiuble retaining my balance and genereraly topple over with it so a lot of the falls were of my own making yes I know its ridiculous but im learning the hard way cut heads on the driiveway 3 times n=my wife
Hi Jill, My wife uses the U-step walker inside and out. It is good for PSP as you tend to walk inside it, She has never had a fall using it which she often did with an ordinary walker. Only draw back is its size when folded, it fits behind the seats of a car, we tend to put it into our estate car without collapsing it. Peter.
