Re the above, my husband is in receipt of Attendance Allowance and I am his sole carer. I applied for the Carer's Allowance because, as I understood it from the literature from Carer's UK, it is not means tested. It was not granted because I am in receipt of a reduced State Pension and one is not allowed to receive more than one state benefit unless your income is below a certain level. Carer's Allowance IS therefore means tested despite what the Carer's Uk literature states.
