Automatic Social Security Disability Benefits For Those With PSP

If your loved one has PSP they are eligible to get disability, automatically from the Social Security Administration. Normal approval takes less than 6 weeks; a member of my local PSP support group got approved in 10 days! But you need to know that there is a trick to getting quick approval.

What most people don’t know is anyone with PSP is eligible for what is called “compassionate allowance acceptance.” Or in everyday speak, automatic acceptance for disability.

The biggest problem is that the employees that work for the Social Security Administration have no idea that there is a program of compassionate allowance for those with PSP.

On my website I go into greater deal as to what needs to be presented, in order to get quick acceptance.

I also suspected we were looking at a different land. When we applied for Attendace allowance in the U.K. We had not had a diagnosis and were proceeding with the appeals process. As soon as we got a letter from the neurologist confirming it was CBD we got it backdated for the 3 months we had been going through the appeals process. So in the UK it appears that one department at least is aware of CBD and PSP.

I know nothing about the laws outside of the USA. My background was law and accounting, and late in life I got a degree in computer science. I also use to write for a few magazines. I was retired when my wife was diagnosed with PSP.

When I joined a local support group, I found myself the member who recorded what was learned at one meeting, and made it available at future meetings. When the amount of information became too much to constantly printed, I starting my website. suportpsp.com I found it easier to hand a new comer the web address, than printing out 9 pages (3 copies, one for each new attendee) for each meeting. Because of my background, I tend to question doctors and when I feel I don’t get a proper reply, I ask again and again, until I feel my question has been answered. I do it in a friendly way, and most doctors realize that I’m looking for good information.

Phoenix AZ USA. Residents here will always reply to questions about our warm (hot) weather saying it's a dry heat. I add it's very much like putting one's heat in an oven. It may be dry, but very hot at times. On the positive side, we never have to shovel heat, where others have snow!

My husband was diagnosed yesterday at Northwester, Chicago. Being a retired government employee he has never been eligible for SS. I suppose that lets him out.

I'm not familar how those who retire from the government can or can't get disability. Notice that I said disability. Under a special program that is handled by the Department of Social Security, currently anyone who has PSP is entiled to automatic disability.

Again, I can't tell you if a government employee can't apply for disabily, but if it was me, I would try.

There is nothing stopping you from going to your local SS office, armed with the information I suggested you bring with you, available on my website: supportpsp.com and asking questions. There is no cost to get their answers, just your time.
