PROTON THERAPY
Who is eligible to use
proton
therapy
as a treatment for prostate cancer. In a recent meeting with my oncologist and specialists I was told ONLY prostate cancer patients can do it and not those who have metastasize of the bone or other areas.

Has anyone done the proton therapy?
Just curious if anyone had their MO suggest doing the
proton
therapy
? When I have my discussion with my new MO, I want to ask if
proton
therapy
would be a fit for myself. I have to deal with the prostate cancer and the met pelvic lymph nodes as well as the met bone issue.

Dr. Selection for Proton Therapy
Rossi just went on vacation for a month, so he's unfortunately a no-go, and I'm scheduled to begin
therapy
in Oct. at LLC and the
proton
center. I'm currently scheduled for Dr. Macewan at the Proton Center and Dr. Namihas at LLC.

Is there any reason to choose IMRT over proton therapy for whole pelvic treatment if both are covered by insurance?
Assuming both treatments are equally covered by insurance, are there any DOWNSIDES to choosing
proton
therapy
?

hdr brachytherapy or proton for salvage tx
MSK RO (Gorovets) recommends proton sbrt due to my preexisting urinary issues….hdr brachytherapy logistically is a LOT easier for me…..wondering if anyone here has any experience or opinions on this topic…..with all the hype about
proton
therapy
and few studies to back it up definitively I’d hate to

Starting treatments
Afterward, want to do Apalutamide Oral and probable
Proton
Therapy
down the road. Due to the heart attack while in the hospital and the added medications for the heart and diabetes; the PSA number was at 348.00 on June 16. Prior to the prostate biopsy and PET/CT scan it was 6.89 on January 26.

Radiation Sessions
I am considering
proton
therapy
radiation for my DICS cancer found in the left breast. Six months ago, I had a dissection B - TAVAR for a torn aorta. I am very concerned about the radiation penetrating to heart and lungs.

heading for salvage therapy
A question I would like some input on is should I look into
proton
therapy
over IMRT. I would need to travel to Fred hutch or Salt Lake City as I live in Reno Nv. Just want some of the best treatment with less side affects. Would really appreciate your thoughts

Proton or Photon
We have also contacted Loma Linda U concerning
proton
therapy
and have initiated their process, but no consultation yet. The local radiation Dr. has 4 yrs as an intern and 5 yrs practicing. Our question to the community is which
therapy
do you consider most viable for my case: photon or
proton
?

BCF after 9 years post proton therapy
My PSA had been increasing slowly since my nadir of .75 in 2017 reaching 1.19 in 2022. Both RO and Uro weren't terribly concerned. I wanted PSMA after 3rd consecutive increase but both recommended a wait and see approach, especially the RO who seems honor bound to wait for 2.0 over nadir. I skipped

After 3 weeks of pelvic radiation treatments (
proton
therapy
), I have noticed a redness around the left side of my foreskin along with some minimal slight white creamy substance. I am uncircumcised. I only have four more weeks of treatments to complete.

Experience, thus far with Lupron and Abiraterone
I am waiting for
proton
therapy
, which I understand would be sometime in June 2024. My overall treatment experience so far has been positive, if anything is positive about PCa.
