Hi everybody I am a 61 yr old GBM. I had a radical robotic prostate surgery in March of 2017. With complications (prostate was attached to the interior rectal wall) spent 17 days in the hospital recovering After release had a pulmonary embolism and another 10 days in hospital. Now well recovered after 6 to 8months. I have had ED challenges just started addressing these issues in Sept . After attempts at returning to sex I have become celibate for now as I have not experienced being turned on fully in the mind. When I have tried the little blue pill I have seen limited success and the worry or will it work or wont it ruins attempts at intimacy. Since giving up rather than changing positions as suggested by friends I am beginning to have semi erections and have been able to have the new weird orgasm. I have occasional squirts from laughing or lifting etc and wear one pad a day for these issues. I am attempting to keep my spirits up but it isn't easy being single. My significant other passed in 2014 after 32 great years.

Recovering slowly from prostectomy
Rod,
I’m sorry your partner is not here to help you through this. You characterize your recovery as slow, but it sounds encouraging. If you don’t want to change position—and if you find yourself motivated—you may want to consider other options like alprostadil or a pump. Some men find each helpful. Things won’t feel the same, but you do not have to accept a celibate life. Also, of course, don’t discount oral and handies.
My best for a continued good recovery.
Yost.
I'll add my best wishes to those from Yost. And, just in case you don't know, you still have time when additional recovery might happen, both in terms of continence and erectile function. I continued to have increased erectile ability for several years. And, as you get used to the new sensations and changes your increased familiarity with how everything now works means there can be more comfort, ability to maximize what erectile ability you do have, and less anxiety. Good luck!
