been taking tamsulosin for a month, along with pumpkin seed oil for the first 3 weeks of that month.

had a bit of fun with the missus on Friday morning (first time in ages)

Then Went out on a Friday for a short journey, got anxious as I was meeting other people.

Had bad nerves on way and indigestion. After a few hours I thought I’d try and pee- I couldn’t go standing, only sitting.

Couldn’t pee normally at all after that. Since Sunday, I’ve been peeing more but still takes a while to start, so far today I’m feeling the need to pee a lot more- just takes an while to start , though I’ve hardly drank.

This is really mentally exhausting. Also for people on tamsulosin, did if effect your energy? I can’t help but feel knackered all the time: I’ve taken a pumpkin seed oil capsule this evening- I hope it helps. Sorry for the rant!

i would think the flowmax would help. I have the same issues peeing. I think it is the radiation i have been getting but i finished my radiation treatment a little over a week ago. It seems to have gotten better. Are you on radiation treatment?

No I only have bph. It’s just very stressful feeling the need to pee, then waiting to go. I’ve only been a few times today, but I woke up this morning after 7 hrs and didn’t even feel the need to go, I just thought I’d better. At least I’m not straining. I get really anxious as it’s a reminder of going into retention which was the scariest thing I’ve been through. I wish you the best in your recovery.

I just read this to educate my self. BPH is associated with an increased risk of prostate cancer and bladder cancer. Hope you are getting checked. God Bless!

still struggling to pee, goes from struggling to going to much. Anyway I’ve just spoken to my doc, my last psa in September was 1.2…… whatever that means but gather it’s normal. It’s just frustrating coz I’m 41 and started having pee problems 2 year ago. God bless

Tamsulosin / flomax or whatever they call it -- these prescriptions are just a bandaid. I was on them for years when I suffered with BPH. The only real cure is surgery -- TURP. My only regret is waiting as long as I did. I put my bladder through hell and I put myself at extreme risk by putting it off. You don't want to find yourself in retention -- unable to pee a drop -- especially if you can't immediately get yourself to an ER. That could be real painful and really bad.

I suppose surgery will be needed one day. For what I’ve read though it’s not something I want- I’m only 41 and like to think I’ve got a few years left in me being “active”.

I’ve been taking Tamsilosin for one month without problems, until last week where I struggled to pass urine. Since then my bladder doesn’t acknowledge I need to pee, so i go more than for the sake of it rather than feeling the need too.

Just very stressful . Don’t know whether the next pee will be waiting, straining or won’t be able to go at all….

I read something called rezum surgery, apparently that has a good success rate…

I had TURP surgery 18 years ago. I've been plenty "active" ever since. The risk of erectile dysfunction or incontinence is extremely rare with any experienced and competent surgeon. I am only a single data point but I am proof of that. Now there is one important consequence. You will lose the ability to father a child. You end up with 'retrograde ejaculation'. Look it up. It ends up back in your bladder to be pee'd out the next time you urinate. I was 56 when I had TURP surgery. I didn't want any more children at that age and neither did my wife so that loss of function wasn't a big deal. You just end up shooting blanks. Rezum came along after my surgery. It might do the trick.
