Pumpkin Seeds & oil

For any comments!I was recommended to swallow two desert spoons of Pumpkin seed oil every day! I now purchase a litre of pure oil from Austrian suppliers. Hope it's doing me good especially after reading the following!

Pumpkin Seed

Pumpkin seeds combine the benefits of each of the ingredients above in one compact, antioxidant package. Rich in both plant sterols and carotenoids, pumpkin seeds help limit the growth of prostate cells while also increasing urine flow. In addition, they are a natural source of zinc, an anti-inflammatory mineral in which men with enlarged prostates are typically deficient.

I’ve been eating a tablespoon of raw pumpkin seeds every day for about a year. I’ve noticed that my nocturnal urinary frequency has been reduced and on my last MRI there was no mention of BPH whereas there was on the previous MRI’s. I’m on active surveillance and eat a plant based diet. nutritionfacts.org/video/na...

The idea was mentioned by a friend who couldn't take Tamsulocin capsules and after research decided to take Pumpkin Seed Oil. It worked fir him so he never had to resort to Tamsulocin to cure his weak stream. When I googled the benefits I thought it was a no brainer!!!

I’ve been taking pumpkin seed oil capsules for a month. They are handy to have. Although today has been the first time I’ve had a weak urine flow standing up- bit anxious about going again tbh.

Growing up I never thought an enlarged prostate would scare me so much!

Bless you. Do you take Tamsulocin 400mg? It is recommended by doctors for us elderly gits!I buy a litre of Pumpkin Seed Oil from an Austrian importer and say once a week feel it's useful to take a Tamsulocin 400mg capsule!

I am 78! And hopefully do not have prostate cancer again!!! But I am always nervous waiting for my routine 6 monthly PSA blood test results

been prescribed tamsolosin but haven’t taken it yet. I was passing urine fine up until a few days ago now it’s a bit of a pain straining. Had a blood test 2 days ago to check psa so hopefully find out.

I just turned 41. Im 99% certain that nicotinamide is the cause for my prostate enlarging. I took it for two years and around 6 months later I noticed I was getting up in the night to pee more. Then in August being the idiot I am, I upped the dosage to 3000mg a day (to treat my glaucoma). Two weeks after, went into full retention- needed a catheter.

Hopefully your results will be good. Must be an awful worry.

Hi. I also take pumpkin seed oil (a 1000mg capsule, once a day). I think it’s helping, but I’m not sure. I do want to say, in case anyone isn’t aware, that Tamsulosin affects smooth muscles around the body. One spot that’s significant is the iris in our eyes. If you’ve ever taken Tamsulosin and later need cataract surgery, the ophthalmologist needs to know, so he or she can make adjustments to the surgical procedure - or the cataract surgery may have problems. In my case, I’ve deliberately never taken Tamsulosin, in order to avoid that problem, in case I need cataract surgery again, in my other eye.

That’s interesting thank you.. Do you know if cataract surgery is still successful if taking tamsolosin? Or just a change in the procedure.

Got glaucoma cataracts and bph and I’m only 41. Last thing I need is unsuccessful eye surgery in 10 years time.

Hi,

I’m told, once an ophthalmologist knows you’ve taken Tamsulosin, that they can do fine with cataract surgery by being prepared and making some adjustments. In my case, I’ve preferred to sidestep all that by simply never taking Tamsulosin. I wish you the best.

I don't know much about pumpkin seed oil, but I bought a bag of sprouted pumpkin seeds off of Amazon. The nutritional information was interesting. Sprouted pumpkin seeds have a long list of minerals compared to unsprouted. He thinks they are very tasty. They seemed like a nice portable hiking snack.
