I was diagnosed with Gleason 4+3 in August, I’ve been to 2 urologists and they both wanna remove my prostate, I’m 49 & single and am very worried it’ll destroy my sex life and make me not me anymore. I am going to try some natural/alternative stuff before I let them cut me. I just bought panacur after doing a bunch of research. Anyone have any positive results? Or suggestions? Thanks !!

The results are better with radiation than surgery.
prostatecancer.news/2018/10...
Many urologists and even some radiation oncologists say, "you're a young man -- you should have surgery!" They don't have to live with the results : a 65% chance of impotence and a 20% chance of lasting incontinence (not to mention size loss and climacturia). That's why I chose SBRT for myself.
The supplements do nothing.
I went to radiation dr and he said he wouldn’t do it cuz I’d be the youngest patient he ever had to do radiation. Thank you for responding
In a recent trial, the side effects of radiation were far less than surgery:
sciencedirect.com/science/a...
"sexual scores were worse for prostatectomy (18 [13.8–40.3]) than for SBRT (62.5 [32.0–87.5])". It mentions marginally more "bowel bother" with radiation but that can be easily overcome with a rectal spacer.
When you add in the reduced risk of secondaries with radiation, it becomes a no-brainer.
Meet with the best RO you can find and set up radiation, this is an easy choice. The advice from surgeons to get surgery ‘because you’re young’ is illogical, completely ass-backwards. It will likely leave you impotent, possibly incontinent, and with a smaller, thinner penis too. I can testify to this.
Supplements, fenbendazole etc are snake oil, don’t waste your time and money. Your disease will continue to advance to the point of being chronic and manageable only with drugs you definitely want to avoid if you care about your sex life.
You have a shot at curative treatment, but only for awhile. Do yourself a favor. Radiation has come a long way; surgery has not.
Don't take fenbendazole, there's no proof it works and who knows could be harmful, unless you're a farm animal with worm infestation.Get treated ASAP.
I've used fenben for almost five years, ivermectin for four. But I started them after I began hormone therapy. I haven't yet claimed they have worked, but I haven't had any side effects, nor have I seen that they have interfered with standard treatment. I just completed Provenge and am getting ready to start prostate and pelvic radiation.
Find an Oncologist, not a Urologist Oncologist or a Radiologist Oncologist as good as they might be, but an Oncologist who specializes in Prostrate Cancer. It's been my experience they will give a better perspective on a treatment plan.
Search the forum using fenbendazole. There are many past comments and a number who have/are using. Including me. But I have and would do it only along with regular treatment, not instead of it.
thanks everyone !
Hi Bryan,
I was 54 in 2004-5/ -(20 years ago). I had EBRT (8 weeks) with only a light amt of fatigue during treatment. [PSA was 6.9 and 3+3 gl.] ED happened gradually… With surgery it happens almost immediately…I agree about talking with an oncologist to explore different ways treating with radiation…

Today there are more options using radiation
After much research, I HDR brachytherapy to treat my G7 (3+4) last year, aged 57. Knew I didn’t want surgery due to likely impact on erectile function and incontinence. I’ve really only had minor side effects and no ED so far. Good luck, do your research.
You need to do your own research, but surgery should probably be the last option due to the side effects. Radiation treatments like SBRT have improved so much that surgery isn’t a viable option for many. I had a very good experience at MD Anderson in Houston and completed SBRT with Barrigel spacer. I haven’t had any negative effects from the February 2024 treatment. This site is an excellent resource and Tall Allen is a highly credible source!
