Best Salvage Brachytherapy and SBRT locations

I'm trying to find top hospitals that have an experienced RO in salvage treatments for radio-recurrent PCa. I'm close to Duke Cancer Center and they have a RO there who does salvage Brachytherapy but he's only been practicing for 5 years so I doubt he has as much experience as I'd like. I think my RO's right when he said you want someone who has done a lot of these. SBRT is of interest to me also but I cant current studies with 5 year results. I live in NC but don't mind travelling anywhere in the US.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Donald Fuller in San Diego has been doing salvage SBRT since 2009, and I know that Amar Kishan at UCLA has been doing it for a long time too. Mitch Kamrava at Cedars-Sinai has been doing salvage HDR brachy for a while.

Thanks Allen. I think you had Dr King for your treatment at UCLA. Is he still practicing?

An older post from 2 years ago highly recommended Dr. Zelefsky at MSK for salvage Brachytherapy .

I think Chris King is only working with the VA now.

I'm fairly sure that Dr. Zelefsky is no longer at MSK.

I've bookmarked this - please gives us updates on your decisions and progress. While I do not have recurrence after my SBRT, I am trying to stay informed on the best path forward should it reoccur. Seems there are not well defined best practices for treatments of radio recurrent prostate cancer.

None of them are good. About 50% curative for the ideal patient with more SE's than primary treatments. If one has a radio-recurrence that is local, the decision to treat or observe is a tough one.

Check Dr Tim McClure at Weil Cornell Hospital in Manhattan. He specializes in MRI guided SBRT

You may want to reconsider your “only 5 year” thought process. You also need to add in his Residency and possibly his Fellowship time.

Might be worth a email to him to get his thoughts or perhaps a consult so you could get a face to face analysis.
