after SBRT and now in my final months of lupron, i still have frequency of urination at night. I had spaceOAR inserted before SBRT. Now at eight months, i was hoping the frequency at night 3-4 times would have abated. Have treat oxybutinin. Nothing. Have tried Gemtesa and it practically closed down my urination. Now trying MYRBETRIQ. Do you warriors have experience with this? Will it abate say by 12 month on its own?

If mybetriq doesn't work, you can try several alpha-blockers until you find one that works for you.
In your experience, will the issue eventually go away? Without meds?
If caused by radiation cystitis it will usually be transient. Everyone reacts differently and has their own time frame. The average man will do better than baseline within a year. I never get up at night to pee anymore.
That gives me some hope.
In my third year after RT I still had te get up 3 to 5 times a night. I tried several diffferent meds but none was effective. Besides, be very careful with these meds because they may lengthen the QT-interval (about this side effect see also above the (comments in the) post Orgovyx + Abiraterone?, Hope49823).
Now I use saw palmetto capsules, 1000 mg. It took a couple of weeks, but now they do it for me (up mostly 1 or 2 times a night)! No side effects, not expensive, so you might give it a try.

It should go down although after radiation and Lupron it takes about 6 months.
hubby had this 9 months after Sbrt.
Try Advil or Tylenol before you go to sleep. It’s getting better for him…he’s now at one year. All the best.
I too have had a long history of needing to urinate 3-4 times a night. Before being diagnosed with prostate cancer I had a large benign prostate. This not only caused frequent urination but also urinary tract infections and bladder stones. These problems were likely caused by the pool of urine that was continuing to be left in my bladder because I could not empty it enough because of my enlarged prostate. Taking alphablockers helped some but they make me tired and feeling fatigued and I was still waking 3-4 times a night. I drank a lot of water for stone prevention and the other benefits of water but would stop drinking at 6pm to try to prevent waking up. When I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, then the real fun began. I received a 6 month Lupron shot on the day before I started radiation therapy. I then apparently had a “testosterone flare” which caused me to be unable to urinate. In retrospect, I think I should have been put on casadex or some other drug before the RT and ADT to prevent the flare since it was known I had a large prostate. Anyway, I would trade frequent urination any day in exchange for no urination. So while I was having RT, my stopped urination problem created an emergency situation. This bad story ended good when a nurse in the emergency room showed me how to self catheterize to empty my bladder. After radiation I had to use catheters once or twice during the day and once before bed. Now one and a half years after radiation and one year after my ADT ended, I urinate normally during the day and I only catheterize myself at bed time. I do not ever wake up needing to urinate and I do not have bladder stones or UTIs. If you wake up because of cystitis or urethritis, bed time catheterizing may not keep you asleep. However, if you are like me and cannot sleep through the night because you cannot empty your bladder, try self-catheterization. It is easy and quick and will not give you infections if you use disinfectants and are careful. I really suggest you try nightly catheterization if you want a good nights sleep. You know that good sleep can build your immune system.
I recommend Myrbetriq.
During ADT (6 months) and SBRT I was getting up 3 to 6 times a night. I’m 82 so age is a factor.
I’ve been on Myrbetriq for almost 3 months (in addition to Silidosin) and now I get up only once or twice at night, and never more than 3 times. Improvement may also be due to the passage of time.
You may be able to get a “coupon” which lowers the cost of Myrbetriq to $20/month.
