Hello all! I had my SBRT almost a year ago. I have noticed over the last few months my bladder has been in overdrive. Could this be a result of SBRT? Anyone have a similar experience. What does the research say? (4/6/2022-Just wanted to add I finally discovered I have IBS-Irritable Bowel Syndrome and have had it for many years but diagnosed within the last year. Once I began using Bentyl-antispasmotic-urinary frequency diminished greatly. So, for me it was not related to SBRT).

Overactive Bladder after SBRT
I had "late-term" urinary side effects (frequency, urgency, incomplete emptying) a year after SBRT. I got through it with Rapaflo. It lasted for a couple of months.
Same here. I had a similar episode about 9 months after the procedure. Doctors fiddled with my Tamsulosin prescription going from 1 to 2 pills per day. Everything calmed down afterwards and I'm on a maintenance prescription of 1 pill every other day now.
My only issue with SBRT has been urinary side effects. I had more than a decade of BPH symptoms prior to prostate ca diagnosis and successful treatment. Well familiar with Flomax. (I’m 67, otherwise healthy and treated about 20 months ago). My urinary issues finally began to subside about 15 months after SBRT. I was surprised (and anxious) how long it took: to the point of considering hypobaric 02 therapy. The symptoms did abate. I’m still getting up at night but found CBD/CBN gummies quite helpful to get back to sleep. My guess is that urinary function varies, and patients do respond somewhat differently to SBRT. Wish there was a diagnostic tool besides cystoscopy which I’ve been very reluctant to have done.
I’m at 10 months now and I’ve noticed an increase in frequency/urgency. I have the pills they gave me post treatment but I’ve never taken them
