I completed my radiation therapy 15 months ago at Kaiser SF with Dr. Mohan. Without Flomax, I have terrible pain when I urinate - urinary strictures I believe. My libido is shot and so are my erections...None of my doctors have addressed these issues except to say something akin to ****happens. They did not suggest cialis and seem unconcerned about any sexual functioning.
I'm 74, the psa is .3 and the rest of me is in ok shape. My question is about the long term use of Flomax and the unlikely event that I will every have any sort of erection.
Appreciate your comments.

Similar experience with docs not talking about sex. I don't get it. Anyhoo, you might want to consider ED meds (a study I was in recommended 60 mg of sildenifil 3 times a wk), penis pump, watch porn, masturbate. Got to keep the blood flowing. And, it might be worthwhile to find a counselor who knows about the impact of PCa on our bodies and minds. Don't suffer in silence.
I found that Kaiser was giving minimal care to both me and my wife. Switched to Sutter six years ago. Still need to insist on treatments I want to pursue, but find Sutter more responsive than Kaiser.
From what I read here for the most part you and I track the same course except a very few years apart and my arousal came from females. I was put on flomax and daily cialis to avoid the exact symptoms you’ve feared. Coming up on my first year since release from treatment I am still on flomax and cialis. I was told without the flomax I would suffer to urinate and without play and stimulation of my penis (of course this includes stimuli for mental arousal) this the daily pill. Did you have a strong libido prior to treatment? Did you masturbate before? Someone here suggested watching porn, is that something you’re into or perhaps some other form of erotica? Is there a sexual partner in your life? Obviously you don’t need to respond here but answer these questions to yourself. Every bit of my sexual interest changed after treatment and I’ve found a course that works for me, you can too. More often than not our health team shy away from deep discussions on our sexual health. As one oncologist on my team told me “our concentration is saving your life”. I get it, the sex is only important to us after we’re put right to live.
