my journey so far

from my diagnosis , had Gleason score 7(4+3), had Robotic RP in Sept 21, 4 lymph nodes taken all clear and clear bone scan, albeit it my PSA after surgery was 0.02 but has gradually risen and is now 0.18,

I have an appointment with the oncologist on feb 8th, it’s looking likely radiotherapy is imminent,

I’ve been on this platform since my diagnosis and it has helped me, sometimes people have strong opinions about various treatments and the use of symbols and words that most of us don’t understand,

I’ll let you know how I get on

All the best from England

Pete

Hi Pete,

I had MRI guided SBRT a little over a year ago at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City. It was a smooth and relatively painless process. I would recommend it over other types of radiation, but then again, I am no expert. It might be impossible for you, because, in my case, they actually inserted some gold markers in my prostate, so they knew where the prostate was at all times, hence the MRI guided, and hence the accuracy. I have no idea how that equates to your situation. Tall Allen might be the guy for that. He’s the guru on this site if you’re not familiar with him. Best of luck from New York City.

I am familiar with tall allen, I’ve often wondered how tall he really is,

I’ve got an appointment with the oncologist soon maybe best thing is to ask the expert,

Thanks for your reply

Tall Allen is exceptionally good at providing data and research outcomes. That is often useful, at least it was for me. Best of luck to you my friend.

thank you, unfortunately I don’t understand a lot of these terms and symbols, I was made to feel rather stupid with my lack of knowledge, it really made me feel bad when people jumped in to give their opinions, this forum should be about us

Hi Pete,

Throughout this journey I have found it helpful to write down all of the questions that I have and take it with me to the consultations with the docs. I make sure that I ask all of the questions on my list no matter how hurried the doc seems and no matter the number of patients behind me in the waiting area. Good docs will always try to answer all of my questions. Best wishes for your next consultation

Hugh
