PSA Testing before and after a Prostatectomy

Before having a PSA Test it is recommended not to ejaculate for 48 hours before the test, what about after a Prostatectomy....do you have the same constraints or doesn't it matter as you have no Prostate??

Hi Chuck

I always refrain from wanking a week before a PSA test even though I had my prostate removed. I always thought it did not make a difference but the one time I did not refrain my PSA was raised, so I guess a small amount of prostatic tissue remains and can react after the old dry ejaculations! Brian.

Hey Jaffa_2001,

Contact your surgeon, show him your documented PSA results and ask for --at the minimum--a partial refund!
