What to do now

Hello all. History first. RP Feb2019 Prostate cancer Gleason 8 in 1/2 of gland and one seminal vesicle. Penetrated the margins of the Prostate gland. By April PSA rising. Lupron injection June2019 and RT June - September. Lupron successful in dropping Testosterone to 5 and PSA to 0.04 By Dec. 2019 PSA 0.07 and T was 681. No treatment this winter. On 5/13/2020 PSA 1.29 testosterone 495 CT and Bone Scan both negative for METs I did not like the SE of Lupron and discussing this with my urologist he started me on Casodex 50mg OD. Three weeks into Casodex treatment PSA 0.35 I don't have the latest Testosterone results.

Question what to do now. I have read with interest the STAMPEDE and PACE trials preliminary results and am thinking I would like to try the estradiol treatment mainly because of the limited side effects. Any and all comments and or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Lance

There are at least 2 gentlemen here on oestradiol patches/gel that write about it positively. Someone else was on Casodex for 5 years. If you care to know what is happening and also have a baseline for future reference a PSMA PET/CT.

Thanks for the reply I have read the posts about estradiol. The bone scan I had showed no METs but I was going to ask about a PET scan at the next appt. in a week or so

Yes, PET scan is what you need because bone scan may not show micro-metasthasis to the bones, which can be treated (if discovered early) by radiation if are not too many.
