3 month follow up PSA test

I went for my 3 month follow up PSA test after HDR Brachtherapy (monotherapy) which also tested for Testosterone. PSA came back at 0.5 which was very encouraging.

My question is should my 6 month follow up test include any of the following or other tests as well?

DHT, Prolactin, E2

peace!

A test should only be done if it can affect treatment decisions. Those others don't.

Can't agree with that TA. Data is king. Any data recorded over months and years can provide a valuable insight when you examine trends. A single hit could be very misleading.

The data collected has to be for some treatment decision. If "any data" will do, why not do , say, a full thyroid panel at every visit? What is the "valuable insight" it provides when there are no symptoms of thyroid disease? There are enough blood tests out there that the phlebotomist can become a vampire. I also didn't say "a single hit." Often, as with PSA after primary radiation or surgery, it is the long-term pattern we look for or monitoring for a benchmark. Those other tests the OP mentioned have no possible treatment implication with current medical technology, so why do them?

Just got my 6 month follow up results and my PSA remains at 0.5.

If the HDR Brachytherapy (monotherapy) got 100% of the Cancer, how much PSA should/could I expect my Prostate to produce?
