I'm using 4 to 6 pads a day and after careful consideration and doing a little homework I had an AMS800 (artificial urinary sphincter) installed under the hood.... Surgery done on July 13. All i can say is after all this added pain and discomfort is SOB better work!

"Under the hood?"---certainly---I guess that you could say that you had a valve job.......lol Seriously, though, I hope that it's a success for you.

Valve job eh?

Or maybe just a new hose clamp. :)

Thanks for this. In a similar boat. Not ready consider AMS800 quite yet. The kegels seem be helping down to 2 - 3 pads a day, but very slow progress. Age 70. Good health otherwise. Had surgery 1/13/16. Looking for improvement. And answers.

Hoping that it does.

I have had the AMS800 inserted and I can honestly say it has been a lifesaver for me. I thank God for the wisdom he has given to the makers and installers of this device. I have reduced the number of pads from 8 a day to max 2 a day and then only to change when I bath and not out of necessity. The pain does linger dependant on how your body accepts this foreign device in it but eventually it does just become a bit of an irritation. It takes a little while to get used of using the pump. Just wish it had a remote...😄

Had one installed 18 months ago. NO pain except surgery healing.

Had one installed about 18 months ago for the same reason. BEST DAMN HEALTHCARE DECISION I EVER MADE! Always amazed at how many men who suffer from severe incontinence REFUSE to have this simple device installed.
