I am 7 weeks pregnant and this is my first pregnancy. For the last week, I have had low blood pressure issues. It usually reads 90 or 100 to 60. I feel dizzy and weak and have morning sickness that lasts all day every day.
Did any of you experience blood pressure symptoms as well as nausea? I have been to my GP and they said it is possibly because I don't eat and drink as much due to my nausea. I am finding it very difficult at the moment, even the slightest movement makes me sick and dizzy.
Congratulations 🥳. Perfectly normal at this stage of pregnancy. My blood pressure has always been this low. For me the nausea (later with vominting) slowly got worse and peaked at around week 11 when I had to take a week off work as I couldn't cope with the nausea and extreme fatigue. Morning sickness can hit anytime of the day, and for many of us lasts all day , every day throughout the whole 9 months. It's exhausting, your body takes all the good stuff and nutrients from you to create this new life. For most women, it gets better in the second trimester. Try to find food that doesn't trigger your nausea. For me it was very plain beige food, I couldn't tolerate strong smells like pizza, coffee, lamb etc.
I've seen the midwife for the first time at 10 weeks I think, but you should always be able to call them to discuss any issues you might have.
Congratulations on your pregnancy ❤️I didn't suffer with low blood pressure but did have really bad sickness and nausea in the first trimester. I am in the second now and the nausea has gone and only being sick a couple of times a week. I found being up right made it so much worse so spent a lot of time in bed or at work I was sat down all the time (which is frowned upon so difficult when I hadn't told anyone) and eating little and often. I also drank more water than ever before but just small sips constantly. The GP gave me antihistamines at about 7 weeks as I had tried everything they recommended with no success. Don't hesitate to contact your GP and explain how bad it is mad everything you have tried, I found mine to be really helpful.
Congratulations on your pregnancy. Sorry you arent feeling the best ...It can be really difficult I the first trimester with sickness . Is there anything which helps you. I had it until my baby was born but this is unusual. Here are a list of things which only helped slightly. Nothing unfortunately took it away until the baby was born but most people feel better around and even before the 12 week mark.
I tried all these.
Sea bands placed on the pressure points on wrists you ll find these online.
Acupuncture
Laying down/ sleeping ( I sadly spent so much time just laying down)
Ginger is supposed to help so ginger biscuits, I know you say you struggle to hold down I was same but hopefully it will improve.
Eating little and often rather than big meal.
Dr's can help but reluctant to medicate.
You may have to go into hospital for IV fluids ( I also trained as a Midwife. I'm a Doula and Maternity Nurse now)
Sucking some kind of sweet, I had craving for wine gums it helped alittle.
I haven't tried this one but some think hypnotherapy.
Some people belive it is a magnesium deficiency but check this with your GP . Always check with your GP.
Uplifting scents or scent in your wrists lemon 🍋 or grapefruit.
Distraction so if you can do something where you don't have to concentrate too much . Sometimes I find lying there made it worse but I know it's sometimes all you can do.
I'm so sorry you are going through this try think of the prize at the end you can do it ! Keep strong and do keep in touch with your gp and midwife it's important you try take small sips and small amounts if food. Take care M xx
