Placenta Previa

Hi All, I’m just looking for a bit of advice really from anyone who has had placenta previa. Were you told to avoid anything in particular? I found out at my 20 week scan that my placenta was low and covering my cervix. It hadn’t moved by 28 weeks, I’m 30 + 3 now & had a small bleed a few days ago. The hospital kept me in overnight & monitored me & baby & then were happy for me to go home. I wasn’t told to avoid doing anything in particular, just to call them if it happened again. Should I be avoiding certain things?

I have another scan booked for 32 weeks. Did anyone have a low placenta which moved late on in pregnancy or did you have to have a c-section?

Hi, I had various placenta issues including placenta previa - mine was completely covering my cervix. I found the advice varied dependent on who you spoke to. One consultant said carry on as normal but come in if any bleeding. Someone else said no deep squats or heavy lifting. Someone else said no exercise at all and take it easy. The final person said no sex. So it was all a bit confusing! I basically followed all of the above advice.

Mine didn't move as I actually had a further complication that was quite rare, but I know most peoples do move as the baby and uterus grows - so hopefully yours will too. x

Thank you for your reply, it is a bit confusing when there is so much mixed advice out there! I am being cautious anyway & think that’s probably the best thing to do x
