Hi everyone I had to go for another scan yesterday at 21 weeks as they have said I have a low lying placenta, they gave me a leaflet and it says if the placenta doesn't move I will be forced to have a c-section, has anyone else been through this? Xx

Low placenta
I've got another scan next week to check mine (I'll be 36weeks). I wrote the exact same post after my 20wk scan. Worried me at first, but lots of ladies on here & my midwife reassured me that I would be fine and it's very likely that as the uterus stretches to get bigger, the placenta more often than not moves up.
I am still just a little bit worried, but mostly just looking forward to getting another peek at baby before he/she arrives next month
Xxxxx
I had a low lying placenta at my 20 week scan and had to be rescanned at 34 weeks. By then it had moved. I asked on here about it at the time too and it seems fairly common and vast majority moved on their own. I ended up with an emergency c section but was nothing to do with placenta. Good luck and try not to worry x
Hi, I had low placenta, was grade IV at 20 weeks. At 32 it was grade II / III but also anterior so I had to have a section. It is quite common so don't worry about it. Cheekymonkey is right, most placentas 'move' by the next scan for 3/4 of those with it. I was unlucky but my section went very smoothly almost 6 weeks ago. A planned section is better than an emergency one! Good luck x
I had a low lying placenta and I think you will find it is not unusual for it to be low at your 20 week scan. When I went back at 32 weeks it had moved. Try not to worry too much as most placentas that are low do eventually move. xx good luck
I had a low lying placenta at 20 week scan and have to go back on Dec 31st to see if it has moved. I have heard from a lot of people that most people's move up. Main thing is if you have any bleeding go in right away. x
