Hi all, I went for a scan today all fine baby moving, good heartbeat I am 13wks 2days. This evening I have gone to the toilet and noticed blood in my pants. The water was red in the toilet too obviously I have gone into a major meltdown rang local hospitals maternity unit they have said unless I am soaking a pad every hour they will not see me if I am still bleeding in the morning call the early pregnancy centre up for another scan I am beyond upset and panicked there is something wrong they didn't seem bothered about it and said a lot of women bleed all through this is baby number 3 and I've never experienced this before. Has anyone else maybe to put my mind at rest a little.

Try not to worry easier said than done I know! The fact that you had a good scan today, are 13 weeks already and the maternity ward are telling you to wait until the morning are all good signs. If the bleeding gets worse overnight then call them again and they can check the heartbeat. Are you getting any cramping with it and is it more like spotting than bleeding? Hope it’s stsrtong to ease off.

If you’ve had sex over the last few days this could be a cause. Tommy’s have some good information on bleeding in pregnancy that is useful too. X

That’s good. Hope Monday goes well for you too.

Ahh how are you doing now has the bleeding continued? Do go to the EPU if it has and checked out. Hopefully it’s nothing sometimes women can bleed during pregnancy.

Ahh that’s good news x

I’ve had two lots of bleeding and it scares the life out of you. The sonography said there are certain kinds of bleeding in pregnancy that’s to be expected (I.e. is ok), my worst happened at 9 weeks and had something to do with the placenta kicking in. Blood clots, soaking through a pad within an hour or so and cramps are times to be concerned.

If you’re really worried at any point I was advised to go to A&E. But a referral to the early pregnancy unit is another option if the bleeding isn’t really bad but you still obviously want to be checked out.

Hope all was ok x

Thank you. Yes it's very worrying I've never had this in previous pregnancies. I have a scan Monday to just double check all checks OK last night at A&E.
