We went for a growth scan today as I was measuring slightly under at 31 weeks.
I’m struggling to truly understand my growth chart and also we went for a 3D private scan at 29 weeks and they said her femur length was measuring at 28 but today it was reported she was measuring at 27. I stupidly didn’t mention this as wasn’t sure how 3D scans are viewed.
I’ve worried myself so much now and the next scan isn’t for another 2 weeks’

I wouldn’t worry if I was you. I measured under the percentile during my pregnancy and my baby came out a healthy 8lbs 3oz. If it’s really worrying you you could ask to have another measure but I really wouldn’t stress, as long as the baby is growing you should be fine.
Try not to worry. Easier said than done I know but in my experience growth scans aren’t that accurate. I had about 5 because every time I had an appointment I was measuring bigger. By the time I was 39 weeks they wanted to induce me saying that Baby was very big and that they were concerned how well I’d Labour. In the end I went to 41 weeks and she was born at 9lb 2oz ( in an uncomplicated natural Labour!) So bigger yes but not like this baby giant they were suggesting! But if you’re concerned call your midwife. They’ll be able to put your mind at ease and no question or concern is ever too much when you’re expecting. 😊
Honestly don’t worry about it. I had growth scans about every two weeks around this time (and actually at 41+3 days, which was the day I went into labour). My bump also measured a cm too small but the baby was fine. It also depends on who does the measuring, if you can get the same midwife and ask them to measure from lower down….
In terms of measurements for the baby, it becomes less accurate as time goes on and although they can generally gauge if the baby is too small or too big, individual limb measurements will be a rough guideline. That’s why they take the important measurements at 20 weeks.
I really wouldn’t worry too much. Growth charts and scans are notoriously inaccurate. 3D scans are so different as well, I’m sure it’s just to do with how they measured or what position baby was in. I measured very small throughout my pregnancy and my midwife really freaked me out at about 24 weeks. She showed me the growth chart with the ‘normal’ range and my measurement was below the minimum line. Turns out she had measured a bit early so it wasn’t as bad as it looked! I was referred for a scan at about 28 weeks which was normal. I think my baby was estimated to be around the 20th percentile at that point. She was always small but totally healthy. She was 5lb 12 at birth, so smaller than average but still within a healthy range x
