Spotting at 5 weeks pregnancy

currently on Duphaston, but still experiencing occasional spotting, firstly light brown, but now deep brown , doctor says it’s too early to do a scan and should keep my fingers crossed, is there anyone who has experienced same too? Also mild cramps in the pelvic during the first trimester, is this normal too?

Hello, I am currently pregnant with the 3rd and I did spot with all of them and they were fine. It was a very brownish colour.

I have also experienced multiple miscarriages so my advice is always get checked out if not sure. My last miscarriage started as spotting and eventually turned into red thicker blood, much more like a period and I was having pains that felt pretty much like a period, lower back area.

I am surprised your doctor said that. I have an early pregnancy assessment until that my dc referred me too, I have had a number of internal scans at around 5 weeks so it can be done, just has to be internal rather than external as it will be so small.

Do you have a local midwife helpline you can call?

Try not to panic and get plenty of rest and get back on the phone to your doctor if you’re worried.

thanks, I really appreciate, I would get an internal scan done ASAP to be sure everything is okay
