Hi Just wondering what other moms think of kids potentially going back to school in June?
My LG isn’t in school but she is at nursery and hasn’t been since the end of March as I am a key worker but 2nd week into lockdown my hubby was furloughed so she had to stay at home with him.
I’m not really sure how to feel but at the end of the day she’ll have to go back to nursery as we have no choice. Also I work everyday with the possibility of bringing it home with me and also me or hubby going to shops also brings a risk.
So me and my family just have to go with it really and just make sure we are as careful as we can be x
Both my girls are in nursery and my eldest will be starting reception in September. I was hoping they would go back before September so she has some time to transition. The thought of sending them back may be making you anxious but Boris has said that opening schools etc is contingent on the numbers still going down. I trust that they are trying to get us back to ‘normal’ but as safely as possible.
My son is year 7 and I really don’t think they should go back yet. The kids won’t social distance and if we are honest getting kids to wash their hands throughly on a regular basis is impossible!!! I think the kids going back will make the virus peak again x
Same situation as Hydromermaid-1 for me really. I’m a key worker (working in a large acute hospital). Little boy usually goes to private nursery but has been at home with Dad since end of March.
Obviously it’s a worrying time and we will all be concerned about putting our children at risk. On the other hand though, who knows how soon a vaccine will be available? I’d rather a plan was in place to manage the situation as much as possible than have to keep him at home all year, or giving him a vaccine thats been rushed through in order to ease lockdown.
Although it doesn’t seem that far away, the situation is changing daily so my attitude is to just wait and see how things are at that point rather than worry about it now. That date is provisional, if things get loads worse again I imagine it’ll be subject to change. xx
My little girl is in reception and I've decided to keep her home regardless until there is strong evidence it is safe to send her back. I'm 25 weeks pregnant as well so that is encouraging me to be extra cautious. I really miss her being at school some days!! But I want us all to be safe and healthy.
Thanks Everyone for responding back. My little girl won't be going back till it's safe we had a letter received from the school giving us a choice if we want to send my child in June or September. we decided September but that is only if I see it's safe xxx
