Just wondering if there are people in their 40s trying to get pregnant? I’m in my 40s and my age is making me anxious.

Hi, I'm 43 and FTM. Currently 17 weeks pregnant. Due to my age, I'm under the care of a consultant as well as midwife but otherwise being treated like any other pregnant lady!

I agree that the Fertility Network would be best. Everyone is so lovely and supportive! But be warned some people are having long and heartbreaking journeys and those situations won’t necessarily apply to you.

I’m 40 and currently 9 weeks pregnant from ICSI. So desperate for everything to go ok. Good luck to you x ✨🌈🤞🏻

That is so amazing. Congratulations to you ❤️ Thanks for the warning, might not be good to read about the heartbreaking stories, probably best if I focus on my own situation otherwise there’ll be all sorts going on in my head! I wish you all the best for the remainder of your pregnancy xx

I had my little boy at 42. It was a wonderful pregnancy and birth. I did it naturally so it is possible. If its not there is so much help and support out there if you need to go that way. Some amazing stories out there. Good luck hun x

That is so encouraging to hear ❤️I am definitely going to keep the faith. Can I ask how long it took you to conceive? We’ve been trying for a year now. I’m 40. I have a 3 year old, then had a MMC a year ago xx

It took about 6 months hun. He was my rainbow baby. I know its hard to stay positive sometimes but I hope you get your wish hun. Here if you need to talk. Take care x

I started ttc my 3rd at 37 I’ve had 3 mmc at 12/13w and at least 2 chemical pregnancies I’m now 40 and have basically gave up, I’ve a low amh but everything else is fine but it’s just not happening. Not going to lie it’s been an awful experience and wished we had never started trying.

Ah I’m so sorry to hear this. I feel your pain. I also had a MMC about a year ago which was so heartbreaking and have been TTC ever since. I have a 3 year old, but longing to give her a baby brother or sister and having had a MMC is making me nervous for when I do hopefully fall pregnant. I hope your other 2 are bringing you joy ❤️

I had my son at 47 (got pregnant when I was 46). I am a lone parent and used IVF and donors. My journey was different from most people's but now I am a mum just like any other. Thankfully in this day and age women have options and advances in medicine and technology are on our side if you need them. I was also anxious that something might go wrong because of my age and I concealed my pregnancy (successfully!) to most people so they would leave me in peace. That worked for me, other people may feel more comfortable sharing what's going on if you feel better supported that way. Wishing you all the best.

xx
