When did you all start potty training your little ones?
My little girl is 13 months and she comes and tells us if shes done a wee and will pull/tug at nappy.
I didn’t know if it was just worth getting a potty so she’s used to it and start introducing it.
No harm in getting one, but i think 13 months is early. My lo is 14 months and he tells us 'poo'and pulls at his nappy. X
We started 1 week after second birthday.. the 1st week was a nightmare trying at home with no progress but with the nursery’s help she was dry during the 2nd.
Every child is different but I think 13mnths is very early.

Wow I didn’t know the nursery can help too? I’m also potty training my 3rd old and it’s an absolute disaster it’s so stressful , but I feel like speaking to her nursery and see if they can help.
We are 2 years 2 months and not even considering it 😂. She tells us when she’s had a poo but not wee and doesn’t really like the potty so just going with it when the time comes x
After their third birthday is the easiest. Hardly any training required. They usually master it after a couple of days without any stress. Good luck.
My little one did this from about 15 months, we had a potty anyway so got that out, she thoroughly enjoyed sitting on it whenever myself or her sisters went to the toilet, she never actually went on it though until she was 23months she just sat and did a poo. I couldn't believe it. Shes now almost 25 months and shes completely dry during the day and now waking in the night asking for potty. It's been quite easy and I think it helped having the potty out so young. It was never scary for her and we just let her do it in her own time. I dont think it can hurt to have it there. We also got her a book from aldi that shows a girl using the potty so she just read that here and there so she was very aware of what the potty was for. Good luck!!! X
I think there's no harm getting a potty and getting get familiar with it. She might take to it without you having to go throu toilet training. My son is 6 months and I sit him on the potty once a day just so he gets used to the feeling and doesn't associate it with anything bad, just normal daily life x
Putting a 6 month old on a potty is totally inappropriate
It's not inappropriate at all. There's absolutely nothing wrong with putting a baby onto a potty up get them used to it. I've sat my daughter on the potty since she could sit up independently and she now does the majority of her poos on the potty and we catch several wees every day and she's 11 months old now. I haven't followed this exactly but if you look up elimination communication there's plenty of parents or there who hardly use nappies at all for their children.
Maybe do some research before you judge other people and their parenting as inappropriate?

inappropriate? She’s letting them on the potty, she’s not forcing them to use it! What did you read that I didn’t? Or are you just jealous cos your 34 year old still needs his bum wiping?
We bought a potty at 6 months as our baby cried and when we went to change the nappy we would have to then wait while she had a wee or poo, then maybe the other in the new nappy before we got it fastened. The existing nappy was very often dry when opened. So we got a potty and now at 11 months no poos in the nappy and generally only a wee in it during the night, when she is sleeping or we are travelling. She seemed ready and is happy using a potty. On the other hand her three year old cousin only started using a potty last week when they visited us. They are all different and do things at different ages, no right or wrong.
