Anyone else pregnant and suffer from anxiety?

Evening All,

I just wanted to see if there are any other anxiety sufferers out there?

I had my first appointment with the midwife today and am so proud of myself as I had normal blood pressure (usually it’s sky high due to panic) and let her take my blood (originally thought I’d refuse that bit).

I’ve now been looking in to what the blood tests are for and have gone in to a panic. I’d like to think I don’t have HIV or Sickle Cell but what if it shows up something nasty?!

Must try to remain calm!

H x

I am very proud of you! 👍

Once we do a test and if something comes back positive - then we can deal with it. Untill then - no need to worry! (Easier said than done)

I am on Facebook in a mums group, who we expect babies in the same month, so we can see eachothers bumps growing and sharing problems. And yes, quite few are scared, some depressed on meds and some on meds for anxiety. So don't worry, you're not alone.

Big hugs,

And wishing you a very easy & pleasant pregnancy!x

Hi there.

I am also pregnant and suffer with anxiety. I knew beforehand about the tests and it helped me to be prepared. At the end of the day you need to remember that you would rather know now if there are any issues. As ChrisWest1983 said until it comes back you need to try not to worry about it. You can’t change it by worrying about it, you can’t control what will happen so put it to the back of your mind and deal with it when it comes back.

The first 12-14 weeks cause the most anxiety. It’s normal! For me I struggle with anxiety being out of the house, I just have to remember that the way I am feeling is temporary. I can’t control what is happening, only how I react to it.

Hope you feel better.
