Almost 10 weeks and symptoms going??

Hi everyone,

So I'm 9 weeks 6 days after our 2nd round of ICSI. I had sore boobs and nausea (although no actual sickness) but they seemed to disappear the day before our 7 week scan so I was panicking!! But everything was fine and we saw a little heartbeat (although they didn't tell us how many beats, and I forgot to ask).

My nausea has come back now and then, but its not as constant as it was. The midwife said not to worry and the boobs are the main thing as they are pretty consistent throughout, but even they aren't as sore anymore, just around the nipples (sorry, TMI) I have slight cramping today but extremely mild and more dull than anything else.

Our 12-13 week scan isn't until 27th November and I feel like Im going to be symptom searching for the next 3 weeks!

Any thoughts would be appreciated :-)

Hey lovely I went for a scan last week and thought the worse as for a week before my symptoms had lessened. I was terrified but there baby was quite happy. The placenta was in place which is maybe a reason they said for symptoms getting less. I couldn’t touch my boobs now nipples tender and I get a bit sore as day goes on but nothing like before. Nausea comes and goes less. I think it’s all part of the rollercoaster. I have read ladies having continued symptoms but baby had stopped growing. I don’t think it is a hard and fast rule. After my scan at 9 wks I’m trying to relax about it but it’s easier said than done. I’m sure you and baby are good xxx

Thanks for your reply! It always makes me feel better chatting to people :-) Glad your scan went well, that must be such a relief. I felt better after my 7 week but for 12 weeks always seems to be the one we focus on rather than just enjoying it.

Ive heard different things about symptoms so to be honest, I just need to stop googling as much! xxx

The anxiety really doesn’t stop with your BFP and first scan. I’m sorry to hear it’s been so stressful. I don’t have any advice unfortunately, but I do hope everything goes smoothly for you and your next scan is here before you know it!

I’ve had quite a bit of anxiety through this IVF process, but found a hypnotherapy CD that was extremely helpful and has brought by anxiety levels back to normal. It worked almost instantly. The lady who did mine also has ones for pregnancy. Her name is Helen McPherson.

I wish you the best of luck in finding some strategies to calm your nerves. Xx

Ahh that sounds great! Anything to help me relax I think. IVF is so stressful and I (naively) thought the stress would lessen with a BFP but nope! Did you find her on Google? Thanks so much, I will definitely look in to that!

Thank you :-) xx

I got my CD on Amazon. I thought the reviews sounded good, so I gave her a try. She’s really fantastic and if we’re lucky enough to get our BFP, I’ll certainly order the pregnancy one too. Xx

Ahhhh exciting!!! Both times we only ended up with one embryo at the end of the 5 days to put back in but its true what they say, it only takes 1. Ill keep my fingers crossed for you both! xx

Thank you!! That gives me a lot of hope. Xx

When I had my 8 week scan my fertility clinic told me not to panic if my symptoms started to disappear (not that I had many) as around 8 weeks hormones start to level out. Didn’t stop me from panicking though but explained why my boobs didn’t ache anymore xx

Thats great to hear!!! Thanks!! It makes sense I guess, its just strange knowing your pregnant and having no outward signs. I still have the occasional bout of nausea but things have definitely calmed down. I'm also really uncomfortable in general as Ive had to have 4 weeks of cyclogest following on from the IVF and they said my ovaries are very swollen and will be until probably around 12 weeks. xxx

in reply toSibbo84

Oh the lovely cyclogest! I was so happy to stop that at 12 weeks. It seemed to get more and more uncomfortable to insert as time went on. I found between 12-20 weeks really hard as I felt totally normal and didn’t really start getting a belly until about 20 weeks. I didn’t really feel pregnant most of the time xx

I only had to have it to just over 8 weeks, was taking 800 a day. I was soooooooooooo glad to stop!! It definitely felt more uncomfortable the further it went. Yeah, Im hoping Im one of those women that shows early haha! xx

I have never got that far but I have been told that symptoms can come and go and not to worry about it. Lots of people seem to arrange their own additional scan for further reassurance. Hope all goes well xxx

Thanks :-) we had a 7 week one with it been assisted conception so just wanting to try and wait for the next one, I'll just keep myself occupied! xx

in reply toSibbo84

Well done. I don't think I could last that long. Waiting to 6 weeks is killing me. But I just want to get that far as didn't make it last time. Eeeek, I am sure it gets easier at some point.... right? Xx

I dont think it will haha. I think we will always find something to worry about. Thank goodness theres places like this to get support. Ill keep my fingers crossed you get past 6 weeks this time xx

in reply toSibbo84

Plan is to get to around 40 🤣

Although someone just asked me how my pregnancy is going and it hit me that I don't yet believe it at all. I think that is what the scan on Saturday will give me. Aaarrrrggghhh

Yes, Thank goodness for the forum xx

Your hormones peak at week 10. So chances are it's just your body getting used to it! Hope all is ok.

Hey just found this and I’m experiencing something similar at 8 weeks, symptoms fluctuating and I’ve already had 4 scans which have all gone well. How’s your pregnancy going? :)

Hey! All good 😊 I’m now almost 20 weeks and was told that symptoms go up and down and not to worry. I’ve had 4 scans too and all have shown my little man getting stronger. It’s so hard, I still panic about everything but I’ve chilled out a tad and trying to enjoy it more now ☺️
