Can someone give accurate advice of what normal reading with forehead thermometer should be? Reading mixed messages online. Is 36.2-36.3 ok at night if baby feels normal not cold or hot to touch? Going to also ask GP tomorrow... thanks x x

Normal baby temp
I don’t think your supposed to read a baby’s temp from their forehead. The best way is under the arm pit x
Forehead thermometers are not accurate. Use a in underarm one or better yet and inner ear one which is what they use in hospital as it reads core temp more than surface temp
I have an ear thermometer and also a infrared forhead thermometer and they both give very similar readings, usually just .1 of a difference so my baby is always 36.3 or 36.4 with forehead thermometer and 36.4 or 36.5 with ear thermometer.
The reason I bought the forehead one was because when he was first born I became obsesses with his temperature and worried I’d end up causing an ear infection with constant checking! 🙈
My baby always feels warm (not too warm, cosy) and this is always his temp.
Xxx
That's a normal temperature. I would not.rely on a forehead thermometer though. Anyways your forehead will.always be slightly cooler than a core temp.
Thanks ladies and thanks for the link Roxanna. I’m going to purchase an ear one tomorrow from boots. My little 12 1/2 week bubbas temperature was lower yesterday than it usually stays at - he had his injections the day before so I was worried. But completely fine in himself and feeding maybe even slightly more than usual. Injections are horrible so beneficial but the hardest thing! Xx
I'd suggest under arm thermometer for small babies. The in ear ones are for babies over 6 months old x
