I'm new to this site, On Monday I found out I was pregnant, took 4 internet cheapies and 1 clear blue digital that showed 2-3 weeks pregnant. Me and my fiancé are over the moon We have been trying for around 9 months with a chemical pregnancy in January.
So I have worked out that I am 4+3 so VERYYY early, but people and work are questioning and putting 2 and 2 together plus some family and friends know due to up and coming events I have on.
I rang my GP to make an appointment and they told me I didn't need to come in, all I need to do is fill out a form and ill be sent an appointment anywhere around 10-12 weeks. This is my first ever pregnancy and I haven't got the first clue, I feel so uneasy waiting so long to be seen by a professional. I don't know what I am supposed to be doing in this time at all, today I have woken up and I just feel sick and nervous. I am constantly worried about something going wrong, I can't concentrate at work and I just feel all over the place! I really am praying this will work out ok
Any support, tips or advice would be great!

This is normal. You wont be seen by a dr unless you need to confirm a pregnancy with blood test. Most areas you self refer to midwife who will try see you between 8 and ten weeks usually to book as they need to get you booked in for scan around 12 weeks.
Without trying to be harsh sounding there is no point seeing you much earlier as if you are going to miscarry it'll happen no matter what sadly . I had this between my first and second sons and even though we found it was happening quite quickly there was nothing they could have done to stop it.
Keep hydrated and eating, if sickness if a problem eat little and often.
If you really want reassurance you could find a local private scan clinic and book in for a private reassurance scan but youll have to pay for it.
Hi first of all congratulations , depending on where abouts you are I don’t know but here in West Yorkshire you get appointment with the midwife around 8 weeks you ring the gp and they book you in with the midwife where she’ll do all the booking in things like how far you think you are blood pressure history bloods height weight etc then around 12-14 weeks you get a dating scan though. X hope this helps x
Hello, congratulations, I am pregnant 9+5 with my first so I know how you feel. It’s all new and you question everything. When I went to doctors I filled a form out, which is a referral form for the midwife, then they contacted me about 2 weeks later for a pre booking appointment, which takes place when your around 8 weeks, which is where you will see a community midwife, to go over paper work, have bloods taken, urine, height, weight bmi. Lasts about 1/2 hour, you will then have another appointment to complete that booking around 2 weeks later. But it’s jut a waiting game really for the appointment, I am still waiting to hear for my dating scan, but on here some people have said, they didn’t get their date till a week before some a day before.
I completely understand, I was the same, fretting over when to see doctors and midwives and appointments (especially as the receptionists at the doctors seemed to say something different every time, and this didn’t line up with the online referral!) as the others have said, mine has been a midwife appointment booked in for 8 weeks, and for me once I filled in the online referral form the date for the 12 week scan came through quite quick.
Once the midwife appointment came through (the midwife called me to book this in) they had a pack of papers to fill in and take to the midwife appointment and blood tests to be done.
Congratulations! I think the other ladies have all given some really good advice but in addition to that, the NHS have some really good information to help you take good care of yourself and baby:
Hun just take each day as it comes don’t over do things rest when you can , eat well and drink plenty of fluids cut down on caffeine intake and get some pregacare vitamins for pregnant mummies to be this will give you your vitamin d, folic acid and iron etc to help baby along .
