My Lil guy has been really bothered by teething bless him. Each tooth has taken its toll on him. Causing sleepless nights and general discomfort. And it hasn't helped that the teeth have been constantly popping out since he was 3 monhs old.. But today i'v noticed there is a black blister above his left molar. It wasnt there last night. Im certain i would have noticed. (He has a very big smile) The said tooth has been threatening for 3 weeks and It's caused him the most pain so far, causing him to get high temperatures, him to drool even more than usual (I didn't think that was possible) .. And he's going through teething powder like it's going out of fashion... after turning to the dreaded google search I have come up with the following.

It's totally normal and should go away and he doesn't need any medical attention or its very serious, he could have lost his tooth and need to see and emergency dentist.. Just love a Google search!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

From very concerned mum -_-

I would probably go see a dentist as you said might be nothing might be something but I would want professional dental opinion. Also teething shouldn't cause high temperatures.

Thanks for your advice. I made an appointment pretty much as soon as I wrote this, the panic just got too much. I thought the same about the temprature but my gp thinks it's related, and certainly made feel I was worrying unnecessarily because his temprature wasn't above 38.7. (He's usually between 35.6 and 36.3). But of course now I wonder if something has been overlooked..

Not so sure about temperature, my son always spikes a temp when teething but a black blister doesnt sound like it can be good any time you get anything black like a blister or wound it needs checking out incase its an infection

Hi guys. Thank you so much for your replys.. We have see the dentist. Thankfully it was a blood blister. Which are very common. She advised us it would go once the tooth has come through, and isn't any more painful than he will already be having with his tooth anyway. This morning we woke up to exactly that. It's gone and a little tooth has made an appearance. Also one on the bottom just bellow it.. no wonder he's been so uncomfortable. I'm so glad I did get it checked though. I'm a bit of a worry wart lol.

Much thanks again x
