Raspberry leaf tea

Has anyone had any experience of raspberry tea leaf regarding labour? Someone mentioned it to me today but is it worth buying some capsules? I’m 38 + 4 days and I’ve read it’s better to start taking them sooner than this.

Might be a load of rubbish but would love to think I’m trying to help bring labour on before I go overdue. I’m on my 2nd day of maternity and pulling my hair out already xx

I tried it for a couple of weeks and it didn’t do anything for me. In fact I tried everything but it seems baby decided she was going to come when she was good and ready! 😂 good luck! X

Awww I know! Those last few weeks are definitely the longest I think! i’m 36 weeks with my second and i’m already over it! It’s always worth a shot though, you never know! Give clary sage a try too - again didn’t work for me but I hear it’s quite potent! livestrong.com/article/3714... X

Oh ladies I know the wait is awful both of mine were 40+6 but enjoy the free time!!! Lots of baths and cook some meals to freeze, good house clean or just be lazy and watch tv! Def. lots of naps... it's 5am and waiting for my 3m old to go back to sleep 😵

Ahhhh free time. I remember those days. Unfortunately with an 11 month old cat napper running around the house like a tornado, lots of naps. long baths and a clean house are a thing of the past for me! 😂 we were so organised with my first. My second still has his clothes in bags and his nursery is still in boxes in the hall (ripped boxes as it turns out my 11mo loves a scratching post! 🤷‍♀️😂) hope yours settled quickly in the end!

Haha I know huge difference btw first and second... I used to have baths with my older one she loves playing in the bath and singing "five little ducks went over the hill" aka my tummy!

Love that!

Lol I thought I would love the free time. I had chosen box sets to watch, books to read and cleaning to do but can’t get in the groove to do any 😂. I was going to go into town today but no way am I going out in the wind and rain if I don’t have to.

I just want her here to know she’s safe and sound more than anything. It’s been a long wait to get this far xx

I drank the tea on and off during the third trimester. Then I had a tea and capsule every day from 37 weeks. He arrived at 38+3. I have absolutely no idea if he’d have arrived then anyway or if it was the tea. I was also walking loads. Problem is they come when they want to! Good luck, hope she doesn’t make you wait too long.

Thanks! I just feel like I need to do something. We are going out for curry sat night for hubby’s bday but I can only handle a tikka masala 😂x

The capsules aren’t much in Holland and Barrett. No harm in trying is what I figured! Enjoy the curry!

I drank raspberry tea and used evening primrose from 38 weeks, this helped soften my cervix and at 40 weeks I was 2cm at midwife appointment as I had a sweep my little girl was 2 weeks over but it all helped with labour as everything was soft down there 👇 but she was a huge 8lb 11oz baby with no other pain relief! It’s all a waiting game now I hope all happens soon for you. I went for walks and curry’s xx
