I am now 5 weeks pregnant and saw my doctor a week ago who gave me a bounty pack and a form to fill in for free prescriptions but I'm just wondering what happens now? Do I need to ring the midwife or do they contact me?

Midwife scan.. What happens now?!
It may be different in your area but I had to phone & make my first appointment with the midwife. The doctor gave me the phone number when she confirmed I was pregnant. Give your surgery a call & ask for the details x
Hiya first of all congratulations on being pregnant!! Hope all goes well for you and your baby the modwife will usually contsct you around 9/10 weeks to arrange a booking appointment and scan. I know the wait can feel like a lifetime lol xx
different regions have different systems, but I was expected to ring the surgery myself to make my first booking appointment with the midwife - they usually like this first appointment to take place at around 8 weeks (of course not everybody knows how far gone they are but seems like you do!).
Where I lived, I got a letter with a first appointment, after I'd filled out a form at the hospital to say I was pregnant so they could refer me to the relevant clinic x
I went to my GP who made a registration for me in the nearest maternity hospital then she told me that they will contact me. I then received my appointments in the mail for the midwife & the scan.
You should fill in the form for free prescriptions & give it back to your surgery, after a few days you will receive your free prescriptions & free dental care card by mail which will be valid until one year after you give birth to your baby.
