Yes! Even when walking up stairs! Just take it easy as you do,with frequent stops. Good cardiovascular exercise though :-)

Yeh I rang the midwife said where uterus is growing when walking especially up hill u use your ligaments more that's what is causing the pressure ligaments pushing on the uterus. X

i have a steep incline at the bottom of my road and i always get pressure in my tummy going up it and im only 15weeks preggo lol. plus the stairs up to my maisonette get harder everyday, i dread to think how they'll be when im the size of a house :P

Looking at all the responses thus far, it looks like this is all perfectly normal. wahey! xx

I asked my midwife about this yesterday at my app and she said it is the uterus stretching and having a spasm.

Yep!! But only recently. Now if I walk more than a couple of hundred meters at too quick a pace the bottom of my bump aches :S

I'm only 26+4 so assume there's a lot worse to come as I get bigger!

Yes you are right. Im almost 33 weeks and walking up inclines including stairs is a real challenge almost pain. It is hard to slow down when you have always been on the go. Although you may approach these little challenges the same way as before, your body or the little one inside of you soon reminds you that you need to take it easy. As you can see this is very common so now you can put your mind at rest. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy :)
