hey there congrats, sometimes does depend on your size, but tbh you should have felt something, if your very active then your baby will be to, also depends on baby size ect, have u spoken with your midwife xx

I felt my now very active little'un for the first time a couple days before my 20 week scan, and a GP friend of mine later said "wow, that was early". In truth you probably have felt your baby move but just don't know it--the first flutters are very difficult to distinguish from stomach gurgles. Here's a direct quote from What to Expect When You're Expecting to put your mind at rest: "That first momentous sensation of life, or "quickening", can occur anywhere between the 14th and 26th weeks, but generally closer to the average of the 18th to 22nd week. Variations on that average are common." I really don't think your midwife is going to say anything besides "Don't worry, it's still early yet" if you call, but midwives are used to getting phone calls from expectant mums making much ado about nothing, so if you're really worried, you might as well call up and get some reassurance. She's heard it all before :)

I don't think its major cause for concern but definitely call the midwife if you want to put your mind at rest.

at the 20 week scan, you will be able to see your baby move and shift around anyway and that should comfort you that everything is ok.

I felt Bert (don't panic this is only his working name until he arrives!!) move around 18-19 weeks for definite. I had been having flutters for a few weeks before but wasn't sure it was him and not me! now the cheeky monkey won't stop moving!!

I was 22 weeks before I felt my son move and 20 weeks for my daughter. Try not to worry... Although easier said than done. I constantly worried that the baby wasn't moving enough, even when I was in labour! X

Dont worry its different for everyone. I think mine was at 20 weeks but it can take up to 24. If you havent felt anything by then see your doc or midwife. I also bought myself a heart monitor which detects movements. You might want to try this so at least you can hear them if not feel them just yet to put your mind at ease xxxx

Don't worry, you still have time. I felt my little monkey at nearly 22wks. No flutters or bubbles, but suddenly quite strong feeling down one side. When I told them at my 20 wk scan about no movement felt yet, they said I had quite a thick placenta, maybe that's why. Drinking icy cold water didn't make any difference for me.. Everybody is different so please don't worry if others felt baby at 16, 18, 20, be patient, when baby is ready, they'll let you know. Enjoy your pregnancy :o))

I didn't feel my son until around 22-23 weeks either. It was different this time as I knew what to expect, and could feel tiny little "butterflies" around 18-19 week.

Like mums said before, every pregnancy is different, and depends on your size, on position of your placenta. It is possible that you feel something, but since you don't know what to expect yet you probably don't pay attention to it.

Don't worry. You may try cold sweet drink and then laying on your left side. It may not work - again don't worry.

Enjoy growing! :)

I wouldn't worry about it too much! Seriously. Im 5ft 7 and I was 13-14 stone before I got pregnant, I started to show like straight away but didn't feel anything at all for ages. Wasn't till I was at least 18 weeks and I lay down for hours that I finally felt flutters. Sometimes it can feel like wind and bubbles in your tummy, I was 25 weeks before I started getting proper kicks and now I am 30 weeks and can see my tummy move when she moves. Some people don't feel anything till 17-24 weeks, its perfectly normal so don't stress your self :) Also when you get into your 3rd trimester they tell you that you should have 10 kicks a day at least but sometimes your asleep when the kicks happen, sometimes they have a quiet day or you don't notice when you are so busy with stuff, I don't feel 10 somedays then the next day she moves constantly for HOURS. I really wouldn't be too concerned at this stage.

Also, my friend who is a week behind me has the after birth at the front which stops her feeling everything.

I first felt my baby move at 20 weeks, just before my scan but even then it was really faint. I am carrying my placenta at the front which my midwife advised me can mute the movements a bit and in that case you might not feel anything till later anyway. Don't worry, it's perfectly normal and you'll soon feel the baby. I am 32 weeks now and my baby boy never stops!
