13 weeks pregnant and struggling to g... - Pregnancy and Par...
13 weeks pregnant and struggling to get comfy at night. Any one got any advice on this :-( xxx
Pillows...and lots of them. I am also 13 weeks and already have to sleep on my side with my bump on a pillow.....if the pillow moves whilst I am asleep I wake up with sharp pains in my belly. Have been considering a proper pregnancy pillow but they are quite expensive and not sure I would get on with it. I also find my mind goes into overdrive at night so even if I can get comfy I am too busy thinking to get much sleep. Sorry I'm not being very helpful wish I had the answer for you xxxx
have you looked at the pregni pillow? Its inflatable so u can have it at any firmness u need. Its only £15 or there abouts. I had the 10% discount code from bounty pack and adding delivery, my total order came to £16.50. It is good because u can deflate it and take it with u on trips etc. Only downside is blowing it up, i found quite difficult so I get my fella to do it (makes him feel manly rescueing his woman haha)
What is not comfortable?
My hip/pelvis pain caused me trouble early on, so 1 or 2 pillows between your knees and thighs helps.
You could also try a pillow or cushion under belly and behind your back.
I always slept on my front or back so it took quite a while to teach my body to sleep on my side.
Try those first then if that helps the dream genii pillow is great. Or there are other pregnancy pillows out there but in all honesty at 35 weeks i now prefer 2 pillows between my knees and a cushion under belly and a cushion behind my back.
I did go through a phase of being uncomfy then it got better for a bit but now I'm back to struggling again
Need this baby out now
I agree, pillows can make all the difference. One pillow between your knees can really take the pressure off your back. I bought the genii pillow and don't find it nearly as comfy as a normal pillow, so that was a bit of a waste of money to be honest. Hope you feel better soon!
Ive always slept on my front and struggled loads with sleeping on my side. I had a fairly noticeable bump by 13/14weeks although I did kinda look like I'd ate all the pies. I got a pregni pillow and used that between my legs at night, it helped to stop me rolling onto my front or back and forced me to sleep on my side, but it also helped to stop the discomfort I was getting in my hips.
I still wake up several times a night to turn over to opposite side as my body seems to have failed to do this anymore (Im 25weeks preggo) and my legs have started cramping at night, oooh the joys of pregnancy lol xx
Lots of pillows...make sure ur as relaxed as possible. .hav a nice bath before bed. I didnt get discomfort till about 27 weeks and then I got a hot water bottle and laid on it (obviously wasn't full to the brim) tht helped me. U can take paracetamol if u need too. X
Thanks everyone looks like im buyin more pillows lol. Other halfs gonna hate me lol xx
Hey Ive been like this since about 7 weeks, people thought I was mad as baby was only teeny then but turns out I have a cyst on my left ovary which probs explains the discomfort!! Maybe worth seeing that its not down to something like that (aparently theyr comon in pregnancy!)
Im now 19+4 and tossing and turning every night.
A pillow between the legs helps but I usually wake up and its on the floor or somewhere random haha.
Take Care xxx
Aww I no been layin on a pillow but every time I wake up its gone lol. Will have a word with midwife xx
